Tortoise Experience

Feed our herd of critically endangered radiated tortoises! Join one of our expert keepers on their morning routine as they head into the tortoise habitat to deliver breakfast! Learn about these gentle creatures and identify the individuals as they munch on their greens.

Your experience:

Will last about 45 minutes. Approximately 20 minutes spent with the tortoises.
Get up close and help our keepers feed the tortoises.
Take the opportunity to learn about these incredible animals and ask our keepers any questions you have.
Exclusive gift and experience certificate.
Includes zoo admission.

Guests must arrive promptly at Experiences HQ at the main entrance 30 minutes before the experience is due to begin.
Children aged 8 - 15 must be accompanied by an adult aged 16+ also booked on to the same experience.
Participants must be aged 8 or over.
Price is for 2 people taking part in the experience and includes zoo admission. Both participants must book together.
No more than 2 people can take part due to limitations with space.
Guests with relevant phobias or known allergies; and immunocompromised individuals may not be able to take part in the tortoise experience – please contact Chester Zoo before purchasing.
