Penguin Experience

Introducing Chester Zoo’s all new and fully accessible penguin feeding experience!

This experience gives you the chance to feed our colony of Humboldt penguins from your own private cabana! Be amazed as they dart and dive through the stunning blue waters of our penguin habitat in search of the fish you throw to them.

There’ll be lots of opportunities to ask the keeper all your questions and you’ll also leave with an exclusive gift, a personalised certificate and memories to last a lifetime!

By buying this gift, not only will it be an experience to remember but you will also be contributing to our conservation work both here and around the world helping to save wildlife from extinction!

Your experience:

Will last approximately 1 hour with approximately 20 mins inside the Penguin Cove.
The chance to meet and feed our penguins.

Booking the Penguin Experience includes zoo admission for the participant only.
This experience is available for adults, and children over the age of 5 years old. Children between the ages of 5-15 must be accompanied by a spectating adult.
Regrettably certain guests will be unable to take part including people with relevant phobias or known allergies; and immunocompromised individuals.
This brand new experience has been developed with accessibility in mind, meaning that every effort is made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty. However, due to practicality and health and safety this cannot always be achieved, please contact our Experiences Team before purchasing for further questions.
This experience is suitable for guests who are wheelchair users, but please let us know if you have any additional requirements so that we can tailor the experience to meet your needs.
Maximum of 2 participants per experience.
The experience will last up to an hour in total, but some of this will be time spent getting across the zoo. There will be a minimum of 20 minutes spent inside the Penguin Cove with the keeper.
Available all year, but may be limited during periods of avian influenza prevention measures.
